Job SummaryThe Summer Custodial Assistant riel the Archangel Catholic Church supports the maintenance and cleanliness of parish and school facilities during the summer months. This role helps ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for staff, parishioners, and visitors while supporting the overall mission of the parish community.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with cleaning and maintaining parish and school buildings, including classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas
- Perform routine custodial tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal
- Support floor care, including waxing, buffing, and deep cleaning as needed
- Assist with setup and breakdown of rooms and spaces for parish and school events
- Perform minor maintenance tasks and report repair needs to supervisory staff
- Help maintain outdoor areas, including light groundskeeping as assigned
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines for cleaning equipment and materials
- Ensure facilities are secure and properly maintained during summer operations
- Work collaboratively with maintenance and parish staff to complete assigned projects
Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or currently enrolled in high school preferred
- Previous custodial, maintenance, or related experience preferred
- Ability to follow directions and complete tasks independently
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and perform manual labor tasks
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work a consistent schedule
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and supervisors
- Commitment to supporting a Catholic parish environment
