Maintenance Manager
We are seeking a transformational Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance function at our growing fertilizer manufacturing facility. This role involves developing and implementing a world-class maintenance strategy that supports operational excellence, equipment reliability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures and reliability-centered maintenance strategies.
- Lead the transition from reactive maintenance practices to a data-driven approach.
- Build maintenance systems and establish preventative maintenance cultures.
- Implement and manage Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as SAP PM, Maintenance Connection, Fiix, MP2, eMaint, or similar platforms.
- Establish and track maintenance performance metrics including PM Compliance, Equipment Uptime, MTBF, MTTR, and Work Order Backlog Management.
- Lead investigations into equipment failures and recurring issues using methodologies like Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and 5 Whys.
- Build, coach, and develop high-performing maintenance teams, establishing clear expectations and accountability standards.
- Minimum 8+ years of maintenance leadership experience in a continuous manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in managing maintenance departments and personnel.
- Successful implementation of preventative maintenance and reliability programs.
- Utilization and improvement of CMMS platforms.
- Strong root cause analysis and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience in establishing maintenance KPIs and performance management systems.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in developing maintenance standards, procedures, and workflows.
- Experience in transitioning organizations from reactive to proactive maintenance.
- Experience in developing PM optimization and equipment inspection programs.
- Experience in implementing failure prevention and predictive maintenance strategies.

Work EnvironmentThe role requires regular standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands. Occasionally, it may involve reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The job entails lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The work environment exposes employees to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high places, airborne particles, chemicals, and varying temperatures. It is a loud noise environment, requiring PPE such as hard hats, safety toe shoes/boots, gloves, safety glasses/goggles, hearing protection, and respiratory protection.
Employees must maintain a constant state of alertness and work safely.
This is a Permanent position based out of St. Louis, MO.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $135000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
