Custodial Services
Provides custodial services for a department by performing a variety of cleaning tasks to maintain a safe, healthy work environment for staff and visitors.
Primary
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Collects and disposes of trash and waste products by taking them to the appropriate compactor.
- Cleans, disinfects bathrooms, sanitizes telephones, washes desks, and cleans lunch/service areas.
- Operates mechanical floor cleaners, vacuums, and utilizes mop buckets, wringers, and other related equipment.
- Mops, buffs, and maintains all floors and dusts/vacuums work areas and offices.
- Washes interior and exterior windows.
- Changes lights utilizing appropriate ladders.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
- 2nd shift schedule is typically Monday-Friday, 2:30 - 11:00 PM.
- Alternative work schedule as a regular part of the job (weekends).
Physical Effort:
- Typically bending, crouching, and stooping.
- Exposure to chemicals.
- Typically standing or walking.
- Exposure to moving machinery.
- Frequent lifting of 25lbs or more.
- Ability to move to on and off-campus locations.
Equipment:
- Heavy equipment (buffers).

Salary Range: $15.25 - $20.77 / Hourly The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
