Job DescriptionPrimary
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Cleans areas such as entryways, restrooms, other common areas, including stairwells, hallways, laundry areas, etc. Cleans occupied or vacant residential units, dining facilities or other building space as determined by your business unit.
- Dusts, sweeps, mops, vacuums, wipes down flat surfaces, cleans glass, takes out trash, replaces lines or other supplies, and completes other custodial/housekeeping duties as assigned. Frequency of housekeeping duties may also fluctuate with the academic year.
- Communicates daily with housekeeping supervisor to relay any issues associated with an assignment, a building or space, occupant concerns, or other building needs including supplies and equipment.
- Reports noticeable maintenance issues to the immediate supervisor or other designated contact; reports any suspicious person to Campus Police; follows the rules and regulations of WashU in St. Louis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS / EQUIPMENT:
- Some exposure to dust/allergens, and use of various cleaning agents/chemicals.
- Must be physically fit and capable of lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs to waist level.
- Frequently bends, kneels and squats throughout the day.
- Position requires candidates to be on their feet most of the day.
- Will be working in scattered site 'off-campus' buildings.
- Occasional seasonal weekend shifts may be required.

Salary Range$15.25 - $20.77 / Hourly The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
