Position Summary The Enterprise Physical Operations, Infrastructure, Capital Programs & Real Estate (EPO) department at WashU provides integrated operational, infrastructure, planning, and facility services that support the university’s mission of excellence in education, research, patient care, and community engagement.

Performs skilled preventative maintenance on mechanical and building systems to support reliable facility operations. Conducts routine inspections, identifies developing issues, and completes scheduled servicing on HVAC and mechanical equipment while assisting with minor corrective repairs. Provides emergency response for maintenance issues to building systems on campus occurring during the shift and repairs within their capability. Strong attention to detail, independence in completing assigned tasks, and consistent adherence to safety and maintenance standards are essential for success in this position.

Job Description Primary

Duties & Responsibilities:

Inspects mechanical equipment to ensure efficient and proper operation.

Changes filters on Air Handling Units, Compressed Air Systems,, Supply and Exhaust Fans as scheduled.

Adjusts and replaces belts on Air Handling Units, Compressed Air Systems, Supply and Exhaust Fans as needed.

Lubricates compressors, dampers, motors, fans, and pumps as scheduled.

Performs emergent repairs as directed by the supervisor.

Cleans HVAC coils as directed by the supervisor.

Performs Exterior Lighting Checks.

Performs Elevator Recall Testing.

Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities and reports any findings or issues to the appropriate personnel.

Keeps managers aware of facility conditions, problems, and needs.

Assists manager with ordering and tracking inventory.

Ensures outside and roof drains are kept clear of debris.

Cleans equipment and spaces as directed by supervisor.

Performs other duties as assigned.
