Building Engineer – Job – Northview Elementary School – Position Type:
Facilities and Grounds/Building Engineer. Opening date: 6/14/2026. Closing date: 06/16/2026.
Description: 8 hours per day, 12‑month calendar year. 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Effective Date of Employment: ASAP.
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalency required. Formal vocational training in building maintenance preferred.
- Previous experience as a custodial supervisor/lead in a school, public building, or hospital.
- Ability to supervise, assign work, evaluate and monitor the performance of custodial and maintenance staff.
- Previous experience in maintenance of HVAC equipment, building automation systems, and record keeping.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance program.
- Unlicensed electrician registration required or willingness to obtain within three months.
- Good attendance record and punctuality.
- Positive work performance evaluations; no recent disciplinary actions.
- Positive interview and good reference from current and previous supervisors.
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency working with a diverse school community preferred.
- Supervise, inspect, and coordinate work requests with custodial and maintenance staff.
- Meet regularly with building principal to coordinate activities.
- Maintain building logs and supply inventories.
- Comply with building and district energy‑saving programs.
- Perform or delegate preventive maintenance tasks and maintain preventive maintenance database.
- Perform grounds maintenance duties, including weed pulling, mowing, snow removal, and operate/repair grounds maintenance equipment.
- Conduct weekend and holiday building checks; reliable communications technology required for after‑hour callbacks or questions.
- Perform building custodial and maintenance tasks and food service duties as required.
- Complete scheduled job performance evaluations for custodial staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Perform duties in a timely, neat and efficient manner.
According to contractual agreement (based on 2025‑26 contract). If benefit eligible, benefits are available to new employees effective the first day of active employment.
