Custodian - Giants Ridge

Compensation Amount: 18.00 USD Hourly

The Custodian maintains clean, orderly and attractive public areas within the unit and responds to guests' requests in an efficient and pleasant manner.

• Ensures assigned areas are clean and neat as directed by management.
• Delivers supplies to assigned areas of the facility.
• Vacuums all halls, lobbies and edges. Mops and cleans all floors in assigned areas. Shampoos carpets as directed by management.
• Cleans all hall railings, marks on walls, stairwells and lockers.
• Pulls trash and recyclables from receptacles, replaces trash bags as needed, and clears trash and recyclables from tables, floors and grounds.
• Cleans bathrooms and maintains all bathroom supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, soap dispensers and toilet seat covers.
• Cleans glass surfaces and windows.
• Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
• Maintains awareness of safety issues and reports them immediately to management.
• Notifies management regarding the needs for repairs to facilities or equipment.
• Performs other job duties as assigned by management.

• Partial High School education;
  High School Diploma/G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
• Strong sanitation habits and an ability to learn and follow important safety precautions.
• Strong customer service abilities; actively looks for ways to assist customers and coworkers.
• Ability to recognize when a problem has occurred and communicate it to management.

• Move about on foot to accomplish tasks, frequently moving from place to place within the unit; bend, lift, carry, reach and extend arms and hands above shoulder height.
• Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 35 lbs. regularly, 45 lbs. frequently, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to stand and/or walk for the entire work day and to climb steps regularly.
• Withstand temperature extremes in indoor and outdoor environments.
• Work in wet and slippery conditions; frequently work in hot and damp environments.
• Frequently immerse hands in water.
• Read and write work-related documents in English.
• Speak clearly and recognize the speech of customers and coworkers so that you can be understood in English.
• Constantly communicate and receive verbal communication with other employees in a fast-paced environment.
• Travel between locations of the resort; valid driver's license required.
• Physical presence at the job site is essential to perform job duties.
