Position Summary

Aeon is seeking a seasoned apartment Maintenance Technician to join the team at Como by the Lake, an affordable senior housing community offering 99 apartment homes just steps from beautiful Como Lake.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the physical condition of the property and ensuring Aeon’s standards are met across preventative maintenance, safety, property appearance, and overall building operations. This role supports the day‑to‑day upkeep of the community and helps ensure residents live in a safe, well‑maintained environment. Unlike many apartment maintenance roles, Aeon’s maintenance positions offer a predictable Monday–Friday schedule with no on‑call rotation.

Responsibilities include completing maintenance work orders, performing preventative maintenance, assisting with apartment turnovers, supporting general building upkeep, managing trash removal, performing in‑house grounds maintenance and landscaping, and completing seasonal outdoor maintenance.

This position reports to the Property Manager.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Plumbing repairs
  • Electrical repairs
  • Appliance repair and maintenance
  • Air handler and general HVAC maintenance
  • Lock changes and hardware replacement
  • Preventative maintenance
  • Apartment turnovers and preparation for new residents
  • Installation and repair of doors, cabinets, light fixtures, window coverings, and other building components
Property Upkeep
  • Maintain the overall cleanliness and appearance of the property.
  • Manage regular trash removal and trash area maintenance.
  • Remove debris from interior and exterior areas of the property.
  • Perform grounds maintenance and landscaping duties, including mowing, weed whipping, operating small‑engine lawn equipment, and maintaining lawns, flower beds, shrubs, and other exterior landscaping.
  • Perform seasonal duties such as light snow removal and salting/sanding walkways.

This role is well‑suited for an experienced apartment maintenance professional with strong troubleshooting skills, a proactive approach to problem‑solving, and a commitment to quality work. Aeon is seeking someone who takes pride in maintaining safe, clean, and well‑functioning communities while providing excellent service to residents and contributing positively to the team environment.

Additional qualifications include:

  • Advanced experience in apartment maintenance is required.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, coworkers, and vendors while respecting diverse needs and backgrounds.

  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and current vehicle insurance required.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach, climb, bend, and kneel for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to conduct property tours and inspections:
    Includes walking through hallways, stairwells, leasing offices, common areas, and vacant or occupied apartment homes. This may involve navigating multiple floors and uneven surfaces.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
