Temporary Custodial Associate
Responsible for the overall cleanliness of campus buildings on a temporary basis. Assist with maintaining a safe, orderly, and clean environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Clean and maintain classrooms, offices, common areas, and other campus facilities through sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and related custodial tasks.
Collect, transport, and dispose of trash and waste in designated disposal areas.
Restock classroom and restroom supplies to ensure spaces remain functional and well equipped.
Dust, clean, and polish furniture, equipment, and fixtures to maintain facility appearance.
Assist with room setups, breakdowns, and support services for special events and meetings.
Move furniture, equipment, tools, and supplies between departments and campus locations as needed.
Operate custodial equipment safely and effectively while following proper chemical handling, equipment use, and lifting procedures.
Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
Required:
Previous custodial or cleaning experience preferred.
Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ; maintain a kind, Christ-like attitude in dealing with and ministering to people within and outside of Northwestern; and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern's mission, doctrinal statement, and Declaration of Christian Community.
Capable of working both independently and collaboratively, with minimal supervision.
Maintains discretion and handles sensitive information appropriately.
Strong time management and problem-solving abilities; able to prioritize and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and related software.
Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
Prompt, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting responsibilities.
Must pass background check as a condition of employment.
The work environment involves working for a suburban, Christian university or Christian owned and operated radio station alongside those with a demonstrated commitment and personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a commitment to the mission and values of Northwestern, and an agreement to abide by all Northwestern policies.
