Job Summary

Provide consistent support and coverage of fairground operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Daily Operations & Coverage:
    Assist with opening, closing, and monitoring the grounds and buildings during scheduled operating hours and special events. Assist with incoming and outgoing communications including helping to field requests.
  • Facility Readiness:
    Perform routine checks on buildings, grounds, restrooms, and equipment. Identify and report maintenance concerns as needed.
  • Event & Rental Support:
    Assist with preparing and resetting spaces for rentals and events.
  • Safety & Upkeep:
    Enforce fairgrounds rules, maintain cleanliness, and ensure a safe environment for visitors, vendors, and staff.
  • Communication:
    Provide brief daily updates to the Fairgrounds team on operations, issues, and needs.
Education/Experience

High School diploma required.

Other Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate office equipment, including but not limited to: copy machine, computer, phone, 10-key
  • Ability to schedule and coordinate to cover events with other Buchanan County Fairgrounds team members; hours and duties will vary.
  • Ability to communicate and represent the fairgrounds in a positive and professional way.
  • Knowledge of the physical property as well as administrative processes, procedures, and business operations.
Special Requirements

Potential candidate must pass a criminal background check and legal hiring processes. Buchanan County may disqualify an applicant if the position’s responsibilities are substantially related to the applicant’s criminal history.
