Hotel Housekeeping
Makes beds neatly with fresh sheets and pillow cases. Pick up debris/trash from floors, removes and empties trash in waste baskets, cleans mirrors and shelves, wipes door frames, window sills, and baseboards, and arranges furniture properly. (Room cleaning is to be in compliance with standard hotel procedures.)
Cleans bathrooms, scrubbing basin, bathtub, toilet, and tile floor with damp rag and appropriate cleaner as provided by the Housekeeping Department. Completes cleaning by disinfecting surfaces.
Replenishes supplies and places clean towels on racks. Places proper quantities of pens, stationery, soap, and tissue in the rooms.
Reports to the Inspectress all rooms vacated and cleaned, rooms occupied and cleaned, and any unusual condition of furniture or rooms needing repair.
Turns in all lost and found articles immediately.
Operates a light vacuum sweeper.
Fills out maintenance work order forms notifying Maintenance and Housekeeping of any maintenance problems.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS Physical DemandsRequires ability to stand/walk for entire shift. Requires ability to perform light to moderately heavy housekeeping duties. Requires ability to communicate with co-workers and guests.
Environmental ConditionsInside: protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes.
Essential SkillsKnowledge of applicable franchise standards and procedures. Must have ability to complete applicable housekeeping forms and to communicate any problems and/or unusual conditions to Housekeeping supervisory staff. Must have ability to positively communicate with guests and co-workers. Must have ability to work within scheduling guidelines.
Educational/Vocational PreparationHigh school graduate or equivalent preferred. Ability to follow schedule and ability to perform physical labor.
