In this role, you'll perform a variety of maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance tasks that directly support our employees, clients, and facilities. Position

Summary

As a Maintenance Technician, you will help ensure our buildings, equipment, and grounds remain safe, functional, and well-maintained. You'll perform preventive maintenance, respond to repair requests, and assist with facility improvements while working closely with the Maintenance Manager to support multiple locations. Your ability to identify issues before they become major problems will play a key role in maintaining reliable operations and providing a safe environment for staff and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on buildings, equipment, and facility systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, painting, and general maintenance issues.
  • Complete routine inspections of fire extinguishers, first aid kits, smoke alarms, emergency lighting, and HVAC filters.
  • Assist with basic HVAC maintenance, including filter changes and general inspections.
  • Maintain company fleet vehicles through routine inspections and basic preventive maintenance.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment safely.
  • Assist with office moves, including relocating furniture, equipment, and file storage.
  • Identify maintenance concerns and recommend practical solutions.
  • Coordinate projects and communicate progress with the Maintenance Manager.
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas and follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support facility operations.
What We're Looking For
  • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance.
  • Basic automotive maintenance knowledge.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple tasks, and work independently.
  • Dependable with excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Willingness to take ownership of projects and work collaboratively with the maintenance team.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to move furniture, equipment, and boxes of records.
  • Comfortable working on ladders and using power tools and maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
Minimum Qualifications Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in facility maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general repairs.
  • Experience in commercial maintenance, construction, or general contracting is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required and maintained throughout employment

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Negative Drug Screening prior to hire and throughout employment.

Clear Criminal Background Check throughout employment with Suncoast Center and local checks prior to hire and annually along with DCF Level II prior to hire and as required by DCF, and Must have valid Florida Driver’s License Motor Vehicle checks prior to hire and annually with acceptable driving record maintained throughout employment along with reliable vehicle, valid registration, and valid vehicle insurance.

Must be able to provide official transcripts.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Required to drive company vehicle. Must meet established insurance requirements. Must have a valid Florida driver license and Agency approved driver status.
