Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Building Maintenance, Facility Maintenance

The Facilities Maintenance Technician ensures all building, equipment, and the associated systems are operational in accordance with company standards. The ideal candidate will possess a variety of skills encompassing most of the general construction trades and specific experience with small appliances, retail petroleum equipment, car wash equipment, security equipment, and point of sale equipment generally used in the convenience store environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:- Respond to prioritized work orders from Service Now in accordance with company protocol.
- Continuously evaluate all the self‑assigned work orders to determine the most efficient and cost‑effective manner to resolve outstanding service requests.
- Resolve all outstanding work orders (self‑performed) or outsource to third party contractors or vendors; repairs that are estimated to exceed $300.00 must have prior approval from the Regional Facilities Manager.
- Complete special projects assigned by Regional Facilities Manager requiring occasional work outside the designated region and may include duties which may be outside the scope of the established list of maintenance responsibilities.
- Assigned equipment must be clean, organized, and well maintained – service vehicles must be stocked with commonly used repair parts.
- Assigned rotating on‑call responsibility to include after‑hours and weekends.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- 3+ years of experience in facility maintenance.
- A strong mechanical aptitude.
- Basic computer skills, including MS Office Suite.
- Demonstrated commitment to customer and team‑oriented management
- The ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision while also effectively managing all assigned service requests for multiple locations.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including strong listening skills
- The ability to interact professionally with all Jacksons personnel, contractors/vendors, and customers.
- A Valid Driver’s license and a safe driving record required.
The candidate while performing the assigned duties of this job will frequently be required to perform the following physical activities:
- Stand, walk, bend, twist, kneel, crouch, stoop, climb/balance and use their hands/fingers to handle or feel objects and controls.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- Environmental conditions include heat, cold, allergen, noise, and fume/chemical/odor exposure from gasoline and cleaning chemicals.
