Sunset Rest Area (34 miles west of Hillsboro) – 60 minute commute required.

As a Fill‑In Rest Area Technician, you will maintain restrooms, buildings, and grounds clean and safe, conduct security checks, perform minor repairs, and keep walkways and parking areas clear.

• Maintain restrooms, buildings, and grounds clean and safe.
• Conduct security checks to ensure visitor safety.
• Perform minor repairs and general maintenance.
• Keep walkways, roadways, and parking areas clear.

• Works well independently and with others.
• Friendly, approachable, and able to assist the public, law enforcement, and staff.
• Experience or ability in janitorial tasks, basic repairs, and groundskeeping.
• Reliable, follows instructions, and completes tasks accurately.
• Must reside within 60 minutes of the rest area.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license issued by the state of residence.
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks such as bending, climbing, and reaching.

• Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Frequent interaction with the public, often working alone.
• May be exposed to hazards, allergens, and waste cleanup.

• Position is temporary; may close at any time.
• Finalists will be subject to a computerized criminal history check; adverse background data may be grounds for immediate disqualification.
• Employment is at will; terminable at any time for any lawful reason.
• Veteran preferences are considered for applicants who meet the qualifications.
• Agency does not offer visa sponsorship. I-9 documentation required within three days of hire.
