Overview:
Multiple permanent and job rotation opportunities for ODOC and OCE employees only. As a Correctional Corporal, you will:

• Serve as a key member of the security team, providing custody, control, supervision, and daily care of adults in custody (AICs).
• Supervise AICs in housing units, control points, program and work assignments, and designated security areas.
• Maintain order and enforce institutional rules; respond to emergencies and critical incidents with professionalism and sound judgement.
• Assist in training and mentoring staff.

Minimum Qualifications

• One (1) year of experience in a correctional security setting with primary duties involving care and custody of AICs.
• Be able to obtain, within two weeks, an Oregon DPSST Correctional Certificate OR a Correctional Certificate from another government agency.
• Possess a High School Diploma or GED; must be 21 years of age or older;
  United States Citizen.
• Education will not substitute for required experience.

Special Qualifications

• Ability to obtain a valid Oregon motor vehicle operator's license.

The salary range above is for non-PERS qualifying applicants; PERS qualifying applicants may be eligible for an adjusted range (+6.95%). Benefits include:
