Position Summary

The Assistant Maintenance Manager serves as the second‑in‑command of the Maintenance Department and assists in overseeing maintenance operations for all company locations. This position supports Maintenance Technicians, coordinates projects, assists with vendor management, and helps ensure facilities remain safe, functional, and well‑maintained.

Essential Job Functions

Perform and Oversee Maintenance Activities – Perform and coordinate maintenance and repairs involving plumbing, electrical systems, fuel systems, HVAC equipment, and general building maintenance.

Support Maintenance Technicians and Projects – Provide guidance, training, and support while helping coordinate work assignments and facility improvement projects.

Coordinate Vendors and Preventive Maintenance – Assist with contractor relationships, preventive maintenance programs, purchasing materials, and project coordination.

Troubleshoot and Resolve Maintenance Issues – Diagnose problems, identify solutions, and ensure repairs are completed safely and efficiently.

Promote Safety and Compliance – Maintain compliance with company safety standards, OSHA regulations, and maintenance best practices.

Perform Other Duties as Assigned – Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.
Three (3) years of maintenance, construction, facilities, or related experience preferred.
Previous leadership experience preferred.
Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documents preferred.
Knowledge of OSHA and workplace safety practices preferred.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Daily travel and occasional overnight travel are required.
Valid driver’s license required.
CDL preferred or willingness to obtain CDL.
Must reside in or within a reasonable commuting distance of Salina, Kansas.
