Maintenance Helper

Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment within the establishment such as hoists, motors, pumps, belts, fans, air conditioners, conveyors, etc.

Requires working knowledge of power tools and hand tools. Disassembles machines, repairs and replaces broken parts. Assists with repairs and maintenance of all equipment and buildings. Adjusts necessary equipment to ensure efficient and safe operation. Maintains a clean and hazard‑free work environment to ensure department safety.

With guidance, interprets blueprints, works from sketches or verbal instructions. Performs minor repairs on all types of forklifts and keeps them in operating condition. Contributes to the design and fabrication of production fixtures and racks. Participates in department safety by exhibiting excellent safety practices and following Valmont safety policies and procedures.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum one year of experience in general maintenance.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, set‑up instructions, and perform general mathematics applications.
• Ability to work in damp, high-temperature conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on occasion with some repetitive lifting.
• Ability to work safely at elevated heights.
• Demonstrated passion, integrity, drive to excel, and deliver exceptional results.

• Electrical and plumbing experience.
• Minimum of two years’ experience as a Maintenance helper or equivalent.
• Ability to be on emergency stand‑by for unscheduled outages.
