Janitor, Maintenance​/Cleaning, Facility Maintenance

The Warehouse Janitor is an essential entry-level position responsible for the daily sanitation and organization of our entire facility. This role ensures that our warehouse, high-traffic offices, and specialized cold storage areas (coolers and freezers) meet the rigorous cleanliness standards required for premium food distribution. You are the first line of defense in maintaining a professional workspace and a food-safe environment.

1. Facility Sanitation & Maintenance

• Daily Cleaning: Sweep, mop, and scrub floors in the warehouse, production areas, and offices.
• Cold Storage Care: Regularly clean and organize industrial coolers and freezers, ensuring surfaces are free of debris and ice buildup.
• Waste Management: Empty all trash, recycling, and organic waste bins throughout the facility, ensuring proper disposal according to company protocols.
• Restroom & Breakroom Care: Sanitize and restock supplies in employee restrooms and common areas daily.

2. Organization & Logistics

• Warehouse Order: Organize pallets, packaging materials, and shipping supplies to maintain clear walkways and efficient workflows.
• Office Upkeep: Dust surfaces, vacuum carpets, and clean windows/glass within the administrative office areas.
• Supply Monitoring: Keep track of cleaning chemical inventory and notify management when supplies need to be reordered.

3. Food Safety & Compliance

• Sanitation SOPs: Follow specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure all cleaning agents are used safely around food products.
• Pest Control Support: Maintain a perimeter free of debris to assist in the prevention of pest entry.
• Safety Adherence: Use all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) correctly and follow "Wet Floor" signage protocols to prevent workplace accidents.

4. Other Duties As Assigned

• Assist the production or warehouse teams with basic tasks during peak periods or special projects as directed by the General Manager.

• Experience: This is an entry‑level position. Prior experience in janitorial work, warehouse maintenance, or a food‑service environment is a plus but not required.
• Communication: Ability to speak, read, and understand English to follow safety instructions, chemical labels, and task lists.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to work in a cold environment (freezers and coolers) for extended periods. Must be able to stand/walk for an entire shift and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Reliability: Must be able to work full‑time hours and maintain a consistent, punctual schedule.
• Attention to Detail: A "keen eye" for cleanliness and the ability to work independently without constant supervision.
