Custodian III

Sunday - Thursday (40 hrs/wk)
6:00 PM - 2:30 AM

Completes daily work tickets generated from Facilities management and Security Administration. Provide cleaning in designated areas. The primary functions of this job is carpet cleaning, and maintaining and waxing other floors.

• Performs all duties of a Custodian II.
• Ensures proper labeling of chemicals used for cleaning.
• Assists in the materials recycling program.
• Daily cleaning of: restrooms, cafeteria, Specimen receiving/processing, building exterior, main lobby, and Daycare.
• Trash removal, dusting, sweeping, and mopping.
• Strips and wax floors.
• Maintains all types of flooring, such as cleaning carpet.
• Carries a radio and communicates with Security.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Stooping:
  Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
• Reaching:
  Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
• Mobility:
  The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Communicate:
  Frequently communicate with others.
• PPE:
  Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies.
• ARUP Policies and Procedures:
  To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures.
• Medium Work:
  Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Fine Motor Control:
  Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.
• Vision:
  Having close, far, and peripheral visual acuity to perform a variety of tasks such as make general observations of depth and distance.

Preferred

High School Diploma or Equivalent or better.

Required

One year experience as a Custodian II or 5 years’ experience in a related field.

Knowledge in the use of equipment and cleaning chemicals necessary to perform assigned work.

Previous carpet and floor care experience.

Basic computer skills.
