Jerry Seiner Dealerships is hiring a Facilities Engineer I (Facilities Maintenance Technician) to support building maintenance and repair operations across our dealership locations. This is a hands‑on role ideal for candidates with experience in general maintenance, building repairs, facilities engineering, or commercial maintenance who want long‑term stability and growth with a family‑owned organization.

Job Summary

The Facilities Engineer I is responsible for preventive maintenance, general building repairs, and facility upkeep across dealership buildings and grounds. This role plays a key part in minimizing downtime, supporting daily operations, and maintaining a clean, professional, and OSHA‑compliant environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general building maintenance and repairs (doors, drywall, ceiling tile, hardware, minor carpentry)
  • Assist with plumbing maintenance (toilets, sinks, faucets, drains)
  • Perform minor electrical work (lighting, ballasts, outlets, basic troubleshooting)
  • Support HVAC preventive maintenance activities
  • Conduct routine facility inspections and identify repair needs
  • Respond to work orders using CMMS maintenance software
  • Maintain service bays, equipment rooms, and shop environments
  • Assist with snow removal, exterior maintenance, and grounds upkeep
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure work meets SLA standards
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and OSHA‑compliant workplace
  • Travel between dealership locations as needed using personal vehicle
  • Respond to after‑hours maintenance emergencies when required (overtime possible)
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience in general maintenance, facilities maintenance, or building repair
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to safely use hand and power tools
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
  • Dependable, organized, and self‑motivated
  • Clean driving record for local travel between locations
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to work at heights using ladders and lifts
  • Must provide personal tools for most maintenance tasks
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in mechanical spaces
  • Ability to perform overhead work and operate maintenance equipment safely
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
  • 1-2 years of experience in commercial maintenance, facilities engineering, construction, or skilled trades
  • Electrical or HVAC maintenance experience
  • Trade school coursework or technical certifications
  • Experience supporting automotive, retail, or commercial facilities
  • Familiarity with CMMS or maintenance tracking systems
