Facilities Manager

The American National Red Cross seeks a Facilities Manager to ensure safe, efficient, and mission-ready facilities supporting disaster relief and humanitarian programs. Based in Washington, DC, this role oversees building operations, maintenance, and vendor management across key sites. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance planning, safety and regulatory compliance, space planning, and budgeting. The Facilities Manager will collaborate closely with program and volunteer teams to support emergency responses and daily operations, while modeling the Red Cross culture of compassion, collaboration, and service to communities in need.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and maintenance of Red Cross facilities to ensure safety, functionality, and compliance with regulations
• Manage building systems, vendors, and service contracts, including maintenance, repairs, and inspections
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and emergency response plans for facilities
• Coordinate space planning, office moves, and facility upgrades to support program and disaster response needs
• Monitor facility budgets, track expenses, and recommend cost-effective solutions
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and accessibility standards
• Supervise and support facilities staff and contractors, promoting a culture of safety and collaboration
• Partner with program, volunteer, and disaster response teams to ensure facilities support mission-critical activities
