DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise work activities of janitorial personnel in commercial and industrial establishments.
- Leads, guides, and/or trains custodians in applicable procedures and techniques.
- Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Must be available to work flexible shift hours including weekends.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as needed including:
Dust, Mops Floors, Vacuum Carpets, Cleans Restrooms and restocking paper and soap supplies, Empties trash receptacles, and bags trash for proper disposal when necessary. - May purchase janitorial supplies and equipment, take periodic inventories, screen applicants, train new employees, and recommend dismissals.
- Assign duties, inspect work, and investigate complaints regarding janitorial services and take corrective action.
- Recommends personnel actions, such as hires and discharges, to ensure proper staffing.
- Attend meetings and in-service training sessions as required.
- Inspect potential worksites and create proposals.
- Must perform other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of custodial practices, machinery, and related equipment.
- Knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to understand verbal instructions.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to operate vacuums and other related equipment.
- Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
- Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Ability to lead and train staff.
- Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
- Ability to understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
- Ability to understand written and verbal communications.
- High School Diploma.
- 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Must be bilingual.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must pass a background check.
