Maintenance Supervisor

The Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Maintenance/Facility Manager and is responsible for the strategic planning, direction, and coordination of facility production equipment maintenance, as well as the upkeep of building mechanical and electrical systems. This role includes coaching, guiding, training, and developing department personnel to promote safe and efficient work practices. The Maintenance Supervisor also ensures compliance with internal controls, safeguarding assets, providing reliable financial information, and adhering to laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Primary duties and responsibilities include supervising maintenance employees across all shifts, managing the safe installation and maintenance of manufacturing equipment, developing and implementing service programs and preventative maintenance plans, fostering a positive work environment by mentoring employees, assigning responsibilities to team members based on their skills and expertise, maintaining and repairing all facility mechanical, electrical, and electronic manufacturing equipment, collaborating with manufacturing teams to identify and implement opportunities for reducing scrap and equipment downtime, evaluating resource requirements as workloads fluctuate, ensuring continuity and communication between shifts, addressing and resolving operational issues, monitoring and maintaining an inventory of critical spare parts, tools, and supplies, tracking and reporting on maintenance KPIs, ensuring maintenance activities comply with applicable regulations, ensuring a safe work environment, managing recruitment, performance evaluations, promotions, recognition, and disciplinary actions, cultivating a team-oriented culture focused on employee value, trust, accountability, and collective results, assessing and optimizing systems and processes for efficiency, utilizing NOV Max Maintenance software to plan, schedule, and document all maintenance activities, developing and maintaining emergency preparedness plans, participating in emergency response activities, performing other duties as assigned, and being available off the clock to answer phone and respond accordingly to questions.

Job requirements include the ability to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or control, talk or hear, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, specific vision abilities, factory environment exposure, and travel less than 10%. Behavioral competencies include being a high-energy, self-directed problem-solver, ability to energize and inspire teams, commitment to self-improvement and team development, risk-aware but unafraid to take calculated risks, strong ability to prioritize and act on opportunities for measurable efficiency gains.

Education and experience qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, minimum of 2-plus years of supervisory or leadership experience, proficiency with computer hardware and software, familiarity with ERP systems, strong communication, problem-solving, and motivational skills, certification to operate light-duty forklifts and equipment, ability to lift 50 pounds, capability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform physically demanding tasks, flexible scheduling availability, and experience working with diverse teams and departments.

Technical competencies include basic math and writing skills, ability to adapt and be cross-trained to learn all job duties, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, proficient with Microsoft Office, and ability to read drawings, instructions or repair and assembly operations.
