Job SummaryThe basic function of this position as a skilled tradesman is to monitor and maintain the physical school facilities. This position provides expertise in all areas of general repair and maintenance including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry. It will be tasked with all matters of repair, preventative maintenance, and upgrades to various school assets such as building interior and exterior, furnishings and equipment.
Completion of work may involve coordinating and working with others to accomplish repairs and occasional oversight of contractors. This position requires a high degree of attention to detail, the ability to work on a team, respect of school property while helping foster a culture of safety. The ability to work alongside administrators, faculty, staff, parents and students with tact and polite demeanor is very important.
Job Duties
Excellent interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask. Perform in a fast‑paced environment and be able to take initiative. Be flexible to changing priorities and demonstrate professionalism and integrity.
ExperiencePrior Experience working in facilities management, construction, or applicable trades. Three years’ experience in a similar setting is preferred.
EducationHigh School Diploma
Licenses & CertificationsValid Driver’s License, certified electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or other designations are preferred.
Physical RequirementsMay be required to stand or sit for long periods of time. Must have physical dexterity to climb stairs/ladder, move equipment/furniture/materials, crawl in tight spaces, lift hands/arms to accomplish overhead work. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
