AME Seat Tech - Aircraft Mechanic Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Aircraft Mechanic specialized in AME Seat Technology to join our team. This role involves maintaining the F/A-18E, F/A-18F, and F-18 Super Hornet fighter aircraft, focusing on aircraft modifications and egress systems.

• Maintain various aircraft egress systems such as seat and canopy ejection, gaseous and liquid oxygen systems, ejection seats, fire extinguishing systems, and more.
• Remove and install oxygen system valves, gauges, converters, and regulators.
• Inspect, remove, install, and rig ejection seats, shoulder harnesses, and lap belts.
• Inspect, remove, install, and adjust firing mechanisms and cartridges for ejection seats.
• Perform daily, preflight, post-flight, and other periodic aircraft inspections.

• Must have Navy/Marine Corps AME NACES certification.
• Experience with F/A-18E, F/A-18F, F-18 Super Hornet aircraft.
• Military background with a focus on aircraft modifications.
• Experience as a CDI or CDQAR.

• Minimum of 5 - 7 recent years of experience performing depot-level/heavy checks on any aircraft.
• Experience with equipment overhauls and modifications.

Joining our team offers the opportunity to work on the F-18 program for the Navy in San Antonio, a pivotal location for service life modifications of the F-18 aircraft. You will have the chance to engage in block 3 modifications, enhancing these aircraft to the 5th generation fighters, which are among the most advanced tactical aircraft in the U.S. Navy inventory.

The work environment offers flexibility with shifts available from Monday to Friday. The 1st shift operates from 5:30am to 2:30pm, and the 2nd shift from 2pm to 10:30pm, with optional overtime. The work takes place in an open-bay, non-climate-controlled environment. Employees can expense $100 per year for Steel Toed Shoes. You must be open to working any shift.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX.

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in San Antonio,TX.
