The Applied Power Division strives to have functional, well-maintained, and presentable lab spaces, work spaces, breakrooms, conference rooms and restrooms. Provide the Division with support across a range of customer service functions that directly or indirectly contribute to project success. Duties include operating industrial cleaning equipment, maintaining and cleaning facilities, escorting visitors throughout Division work spaces, safely handling chemical cleaning products, and performing general labor tasks.

• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners & power equipment in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming carpet, steam-clean or shampoo carpets.
• Occasional stripping, sealing, and polish of floors.
• Independently clean offices, laboratories, lobbies, breakrooms, conference rooms, dust furniture, and fixtures.
• Gather and empty trash receptacles.
• Service, clean, and supply restrooms with soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and submit purchase requisitions for the supplies and equipment required to perform cleaning and maintenance duties.
• Ability to work at a steady, diligent pace to complete assigned duties within allotted timeframe and quality standards.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and orbital floor scrubbers, perform visitor escorting duties, and complete other tasks as assigned.

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• 0-2 years:
  General laborer or janitorial experience.
• Self-Motivated individual with strong communication skills, and the ability to multi-task.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, reach, pull and lift and carry objects up to 30 lbs. without assistance.
• Must have the ability to walk or stand for the duration of the work shift.
• Existing security clearance is preferred but not required; must be able to obtain a security clearance.
• A valid/clear driver's license is required.

• Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
