San Antonio, TX (University of the Incarnate Word Campus) | $16.50 per hour Aramark Facilities Management is hiring a Floor Technician for the University of the Incarnate Word campus in San Antonio, Texas. This position focuses on floor care, custodial services, and facility cleanliness, including maintaining hard floors and carpets in academic, administrative, and public areas. Daily work includes operating floor care equipment, stripping and refinishing floors, burnishing, carpet cleaning, waste removal, and supporting a clean, safe environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

This is a physically active role that requires standing, walking, bending, lifting, and working with cleaning equipment throughout the shift. We operate a 24-hour service model, so schedules may include day, evening, overnight, weekend, or holiday shifts based on facility needs. • Operate industrial floor care equipment, including floor scrubbers, buffers, burnishers, vacuums, and carpet extraction equipment.
• Strip, refinish, burnish, spray clean, and maintain hard floor surfaces.
• Clean and maintain carpets and upholstered surfaces through shampooing, extraction, spot cleaning, and vacuuming.
• Perform preventive maintenance and restorative floor care for a variety of floor surface types.
• Collect and properly dispose of trash, recyclables, and other facility waste.
• Clean and disinfect receptacles, carts, and assigned work areas.
• Support general custodial cleaning, including maintaining common areas and public-facing spaces as needed.
• Follow all safety, sanitation, infection-control, and chemical-handling procedures.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a professional appearance while on site.
• Identify and report floor, safety, or facility issues that require maintenance attention.
• Work independently and as part of a team to complete scheduled floor care assignments across campus facilities.

Required

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to perform physical job duties, including standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting throughout the shift.
• Ability to safely operate or learn to operate floor care and custodial equipment.
• Ability to read and write for communication, training, and safety purposes.
• Reliable attendance and ability to work assigned shifts.
• Availability to work day, evening, overnight, weekend, or holiday schedules as required by operations.

• 1+ year of experience as a Floor Technician, Floor Care Technician, Custodian, Janitor, Housekeeper, or related facilities maintenance role.
• Experience maintaining floors in commercial buildings, universities, healthcare facilities, schools, or similar environments.
• Knowledge of floor stripping, refinishing, burnishing, buffing, carpet extraction, and custodial best practices.
• Experience using industrial floor care equipment and cleaning chemicals.
• Custodial, safety, or floor care certifications are a plus but not required.
