Maintenance Technician II - Parkloft

Action is seeking a Full-Time Maintenance Technician II to join our team at the Parkloft property in downtown San Diego
.

The Maintenance Technician, supervised by the General Manager, ensures upkeep and repair of common areas within the Association. Responsibilities include patching and painting, wallpaper repair, cleaning engineering spaces, and emergency preparedness and response for events such as floods, fires, power outages, and earthquakes. Continuous hands-on training supports these duties, with potential advancement to a full-time Building Engineer role.

Compensation: $34 to $36 per hour

Schedule: Monday to Friday: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM

• Monitor and maintain optimum performance of all building systems including mechanical, electrical/electronic, CCTV, fire/life safety, smoke control, access control/security, HVAC and water circulation systems; coordinate with necessary subcontractors to ensure equipment performance.
• Train building staff on proper operation and maintenance of systems and equipment.
• Schedule and supervise city and state inspections and testing of common area equipment (annual fire/life safety system testing, elevator inspections, recall testing).
• Ensure the Association is in compliance with fire/life safety inspections and repairs.
• Oversee development and implementation of preventative maintenance programs.
• Oversee operations and performance of third party vendors.
• Respond to inquiries and investigate and resolve resident complaints in a timely and courteous manner.

• Onsite engineering experience in a luxury high-rise community or hotel; HOA experience is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with MS Office applications.
• Reliable transportation to and from various properties in San Diego.
• Available by cell phone 24/7 for emergencies.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening post-offer.
• High-rise mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and Fire/Life/Safety Systems experience.
• Familiar with Uniform Building Code.
• EPA/608 Universal License, Fire Pump Certificate, HVAC Certification.
• Valid California Driver's License and Auto Insurance.
