Hotel Maintenance Supervisor

Kona Kai San Diego Resort is a boutique urban resort located on Shelter Island. With 170 guestrooms, Kona Kai Resort is home to Vessel Restaurant + Bar, Spa Terre, a marina and a private club, all located just minutes from downtown San Diego. We are currently seeking a positive, hard-working, self-motivated individuals to join our fantastic team as our Hotel Maintenance Supervisor at our island-inspired resort.

The Job

This role will report to:
The Director of Engineering

The Hotel Maintenance Supervisor oversees the maintenance and operation of resort facilities, equipment, and building systems. This hands-on role supervises engineering team members, manages work orders, supports preventive maintenance programs, and helps ensure a safe and exceptional guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise Engineering team members and daily operations.
  • Manage work orders and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Diagnose and repair building, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
  • Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and equipment maintenance.
  • Maintain inventory of parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Conduct safety inspections and support special projects.

Qualifications

  • Experience in general building maintenance, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Basic working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to use power and hand tools safely.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Open availability, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred

  • HVAC and refrigeration experience.
  • EPA 608 Certification.
  • Experience with painting, drywall, copper pipe soldering, and pool maintenance.
  • Prior hotel or resort engineering supervisory experience.
