Job Overview
We're seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to help keep our buildings, equipment, and work spaces operating smoothly. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, repairing systems, and taking pride in maintaining a safe, professional environment. You'll work on a variety of maintenance tasks including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and preventive maintenance projects.
What You'll Do
- Perform general maintenance and repairs on building systems, equipment, and facility assets.
- Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and appliance issues.
- Complete light carpentry, painting, cleaning, and minor construction projects.
- Conduct routine facility inspections and identify maintenance needs.
- Support preventive maintenance programs to keep equipment running efficiently.
- Order, organize, and maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and replacement parts.
- Coordinate with and escort outside contractors and service vendors.
- Install office furniture, ergonomic equipment, and facility fixtures.
- Update work orders and maintenance records using the CMMS system.
- Assist with office moves, facility modifications, and workspace improvements.
- Support recycling, waste management, and general facility upkeep.
- Travel between company buildings to perform maintenance tasks as needed.
- Participate in an after-hours facilities and security call rotation.
What We're Looking For
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Experience using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and building-related issues.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices.
- Comfort using computers and maintenance management software (CMMS).
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and manage multiple projects.
- Reliable attendance and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
Work Environment
- This position works throughout office and facility environments, supporting multiple buildings and departments. The role involves a mix of indoor and outdoor work, hands-on repairs, equipment maintenance, and interaction with employees and vendors. Candidates should be comfortable moving throughout facilities, lifting maintenance equipment and supplies, and responding to a variety of maintenance needs in a fast-paced environment.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.50 - $22.50/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
