Position: Maintenance Engineer I

Overview Keep the Resort Running. Keep the Experience Exceptional.

At Town and Country Resort, we believe great hospitality starts behind the scenes. Our Engineering team keeps everything from guest rooms and restaurants to pools, meeting spaces, and resort amenities operating safely, efficiently, and reliably.

We are looking for an Engineer I who is mechanically minded, solution-oriented, and takes pride in keeping things working. If you are the person who hears a strange noise and immediately wants to figure out where it is coming from, we would like to meet you. $24.85 per hour. #towncountrySD

Responsibilities What You'll Do

As an Engineer I, you will perform routine and preventive maintenance throughout the resort and respond to service requests and equipment issues. You will work closely with the Engineering team and other departments to maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our guests and team members.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout guest rooms, public areas, restaurants, meeting spaces, and back-of-house areas.
  • Respond promptly to guest room and departmental maintenance requests.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other building systems as assigned.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and systems to identify the cause of problems and make appropriate repairs.
  • Assist with maintaining resort equipment, fixtures, furniture, and facilities.
  • Inspect areas and equipment for potential safety or maintenance concerns and report issues appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts or materials used.
  • Assist with pool, grounds, and other resort maintenance as needed.
  • Work with outside contractors and vendors when directed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all applicable safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and resort policies.
  • Provide professional and courteous service to guests and team members.
  • Respond to emergencies and urgent maintenance situations as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications What We're Looking For
  • Previous maintenance, engineering, facilities, or related experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical systems, and general building maintenance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and determine appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to use common hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to doing the job correctly.
  • Ability to prioritize work and respond appropriately to changing needs.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Hospitality or hotel engineering experience is a plus—but we are willing to train the right person.
The Physical Stuff

This is a hands-on position, so you should be comfortable being on your feet and moving throughout a large resort. The position requires the ability to:

  • Stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and reach for extended periods.
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull equipment, tools, and materials as required.
  • Safely operate ladders and other maintenance equipment.
  • Work in indoor and outdoor environments and in varying temperatures.
  • Perform emergency repairs when necessary.
Why Town and Country?

Because no two days are exactly the same.

One day you might be troubleshooting an HVAC issue in a guest room. The next, you could be repairing equipment in one of our restaurants or helping get a meeting space ready for a major event. You will be part of a team that plays an essential role in the guest experience—even if our guests don't always see you doing it.

If you are dependable, curious, mechanically inclined, and take pride in being the person others can count on when something needs fixing,
we want you on our team.

Join Town and Country Resort and help us keep San Diego's iconic resort running at its best.
