ABOUT CORE SERVICESCore Services Hood Cleaning & Fire Prevention is a rapidly growing hood cleaning and fire prevention company based in San Diego, CA. We're a lean, hands‑on team serving restaurants and commercial kitchens across the county. We move fast, we hold people accountable, and every role here matters to keeping our operation running smoothly.
THE ROLEWe're hiring a Filter Cleaning Technician to take ownership of cleaning the dirty hood filters our filter exchange technician brings back to the shop each day. Your job is to make sure every filter is thoroughly cleaned, inspected, dried, and organized so our exchange technician can load up and run their routes without any delays or surprises. This is an afternoon/evening role by design, cleaning filters later in the day ensures everything is ready to go for the next day or the next week's route.
WHATYOU'LL OWN
- Receive and stage dirty filters dropped off by our filter exchange technician.
- Thoroughly clean filters to remove grease and buildup using our degreasing process and equipment.
- Inspect filters for damage and set aside any that need replacement rather than cleaning.
- Dry, sort, and organize cleaned filters so they're staged and ready for the next scheduled exchange.
- Keep the cleaning area, equipment, and supplies organized and stocked.
- Track filter counts so our exchange technician can plan routes with confidence.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area at all times.
- Reliable and detail-oriented, filters need to be clean and organized, every time, no exceptions.
- Comfortable working with degreaser and cleaning chemicals (full training provided).
- Able to work independently once trained, with minimal supervision during your shift.
- Some cleaning, janitorial, dish/kitchen, detailing, or similar hands‑on labor experience preferred, but not required, we'll train the right person.
- Available for afternoon/evening shifts, most weekdays.
- Takes pride in the work, this role keeps our entire filter exchange operation running on time.
- Pay: $19–$22/hour, based on experience.
- Part-time to start, with room to grow in hours and pay as our filter program expands.
- Opportunity to grow into other roles at Core Services as the company grows.
