Position: Plant Support Tech 1

Job Description

Position Summary:

Assists in the management and coordination of functions and activities of the Plant Support Department with emphasis on landscaping.

Essential Functions of the Job:

Building, drywall, painting, and construction skills.
Maintains irrigation systems throughout SYHC, Inc.
Performs duties directly related to general construction, plumbing, basic electricity, mechanical skills, and landscaping.
Assist in the completion and coordination of all written work orders and verbal emergent work orders at all locations.
Inspects and performs safety tests on electrical lighting, emergency generators, alarms systems, communication system, medical equipment and HVAC system

Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops.
Attends meetings as required and participates on committees as directed.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested

Job Requirements Education Preferred:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Graduate from Associated Technical College

Experience and

Required Skills:

3+ years of experience in related field preferred.

Verbal and Written Skills Required to perform the Job:

Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus. Good oral and written communication.

Technical Knowledge and Skills Required to Perform the Job:

Carpentry, basic electricity, plumbing and landscaping. Advanced knowledge of various telephone systems and wiring. Knowledge of plant operations and equipment.

Equipment Used:

High power tools, hand tools, variety of materials

Working Conditions and

Physical Requirements:

Will be exposed to confined space, high noise level, hazardous chemicals and materials. Heavy lifting (75 lbs). Driving between location sites.

Universal Requirements:

Pre-employment requirements include I-9, physical, positive background and reference check results, complete application, new hire orientation, pre-employment PPDs. Compliance with all mandated vaccinations and all boosters is a term and condition of employment.
