• Complete assigned work tasks in a timely fashion.
• Identify needed part(s) and order them with approval of management.
• Notify engineering management of the expected delivery date of parts and any estimated delay in repair(s).
• Complete repair(s) after parts are received and report completion to appropriate personnel.
• Work with the Engineering Supervisor, Engineering Administrator or Director of Engineering to schedule assigned work to minimize impact to operation and guests.
• Track status of maintenance tasks and report status of all assigned tasks to engineering management from start to completion.
• Troubleshoot defective equipment and determine needed repairs or adjustments to bring them to proper operation.
• Independently perform repairs to electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems, seeking help when needed to ensure repairs are completed on time.
• Review and maintain maintenance pass logs and all other assigned logs in a timely and accurate manner.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 to 2 years of relevant experience and/or training.
• Previous similar position in a hotel or similar business entity preferred.
• Availability to work on weekends, holidays and day or night shift is required.
• Ability to always maintain a friendly, professional, team‑oriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude, especially under stress or challenges.
• Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods, up to and including the entire shift, and lift up to 25 lbs.
• Experience in dealing with the public preferred.
• Previous experience in plumbing, electrical, HVAC‑R, and kitchen equipment preferred.
• The position will be filled in accordance with the process set forth in California Labor Code Section 2810.8 and San Diego Municipal Code 311.0101 et. seq.
