Position Overview
Compensation Range: $22.25 to $24.25 hourly.
Location:
500 Paul Av, San Francisco, California 94124. The Facility Maintenance Helper will assist in the facility maintenance of all U‑Haul Moving Centers, Storage Centers, and other U‑Haul facilities within a geographical area.
- Effectively work with a variety of hand and power tools.
- Perform general maintenance, installation, repair and service.
- Work requiring nailing, sawing, cutting, painting and basic facility maintenance.
- Perform clean‑up duties at renovation sites.
- Complete work requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist skilled workers in the performance of all duties when necessary.
- Participate in ongoing continuous U‑Haul education through U‑Haul University.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain a good driving record to operate commercial motor vehicles.
- Adherence to all local state (provincial) and federal vehicular regulations while driving.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Work Environment & Physical DemandsThe work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts or machines, fumes or irritant chemicals. May require the use of protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields. The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking, recurrent bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching or similar activities, and lifting a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted.
