As a Utility Engineer, you will support the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of hotel facilities and building systems. Working as part of the Engineering team, you will perform routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance tasks to ensure a comfortable and exceptional environment for guests and colleagues. This position is represented by Stationary Engineers Local 39. A little about your day-to-day:
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on hotel equipment, guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities. Assist in the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and life-safety systems. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and service calls. Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and complete assigned work orders. Troubleshoot and repair building equipment and systems as directed. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
Support hotel renovation and improvement projects as needed. Follow all safety procedures, building codes, and company policies. Maintain accurate records of completed work and preventative maintenance activities. Collaborate with other departments to minimize disruptions and ensure an exceptional guest experience.
What we need from you:
Previous maintenance, engineering, facilities, or building operations experience preferred. Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and perform physical work for extended periods. Flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, evenings, and overnight shifts as business needs require.
