Overview
This role supports patient food service by delivering safe, accurate, timely, and responsive service. Responsibilities include stocking and serving portion-controlled hot and cold foods, replenishing stations, restocking workstations, assembling, delivering, and collecting patient trays, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of work stations and equipment. The role requires positive patient and nursing interactions and serves as an ambassador for the Nutrition and Food Services department.
Responsibilities- Provide patient food service that is safe, accurate, timely, and responsive to patient needs.
- Stock and serve portion-controlled hot and cold foods; replenish stations; restock workstations; assemble, deliver, and collect patient trays.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work stations and equipment.
- Demonstrate excellent patient and nursing interactions and serve as a department ambassador.
- A minimum of 2 years of customer-facing experience within the food service, hospitality, or retail industries.
- Ability to read, write, follow written or oral instructions, and be understood in English.
- Basic computer skills.
- Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
- Ability to meet the physical demands involved with job duties.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of college or equivalent.
- State of California Food Handler certification or Serv Safe certification.

Salary InformationThe final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on factors including work experience and internal equity within this position classification positions represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
