Position: 0922 Manager I – Terminal Systems Assistant Manager - SFO (Eligible list ID 163626)

Under administrative direction, the Terminal Systems Assistant Manager is responsible for ensuring that Airport-owned Terminal Systems such as passenger processing system (PPS), information displays (IDS), Airport resource allocations and other shared-use equipment are operated and maintained in a safe and efficient manner through evaluations and inspections. This position will ensure compliance with Service Level Agreement by evaluating work completed by contractors and track how systems are operated and maintained as well as compliance with Airport rules and standards.

The

essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Ensure Airport-owned Terminal Systems equipment and technologies are operating and maintained in a safe and efficient manner through evaluation and inspections.

Evaluate functionality of Airport systems by developing reports and tracking data for compliance with Service Level Agreements.

Assist in the review, assignment and billing of airport common use resources as well as tracking of common use equipment and consumable stock inventories.

Monitor the allocation of commons use resources to ensure optimal utilization as well as helpdesk tickets and response and provide follow-up actions to ensure system efficiency.

Submit work orders to facilities department and contractors to ensure equipment and systems are maintained efficiently.

Assist with the creation and maintenance of system rules and verifying the system application performance is functioning as intended. Upload Quarterly Standard Schedules Information Manual (SSIM) into resource management system (RMS) and Airport Operation Data base (AODB).

Work with the AIOC (Airport integrated Operations Center) in developing and implementing operational policies and procedures.

Establish and maintain relationships to ensure system utilization with contract service provides, airlines, and other Airport stakeholders.

Provide assistance and training to Airport stakeholders such as airlines, federal agencies, concession, and contractors, on the use of Airport terminal systems.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university; AND

EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of professional-level experience in aviation operations, airport facilities operations, and/or airport common use and resource management systems coordination; AND

Possession of or ability to obtain a valid California Class C driver license prior to employment.

Education Substitution:
Additional qualifying full-time work experience (2,000 hours equal one year) as described above may substitute up to two (2) years of the required education. One (1) year of work experience equals to 30 semester units or 45 quarter units.

Desirable Qualifications

The stated desirable qualifications may be used to identify job finalists at the end of the selection process when candidates are referred to hiring.

Experience interpreting airport rules and regulations pertaining to airport operations, including Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations.

Experience with airline related systems, such as gate and facilities management systems, Passenger Boarding Bridges (PBB), and Baggage Handling Systems (BHS).

Experience developing and implementing quality control processes for the evaluating of maintenance work associated with Baggage handling systems and Passenger Boarding Bridges.

Experience interpreting, evaluating and implementing contractual requirements.

Knowledge of mechanical systems and controls.

Excellent oral and written communications skills.
