WHO WE ARE

Palisociety is a society of unique hotels and residences — Palihouse, Palihotel, Le Petit Pali, ARRIVE by Palisociety, and a growing collection of independently branded properties. Since our first hotel opened in Los Angeles in 2009, we've grown into a nationwide portfolio of neighborhood-centric hotels, restaurants, bars, and event spaces, earning recognition from Condé Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure, the New York Times, and more.

We consider our employees our greatest asset: structured training from day one, consistent feedback, and a clear path for growth. We develop our leaders from within, because the strongest hospitality companies are the ones that grow their own.

ABOUT PALIHOTEL SAN FRANCISCO

Palihotel San Francisco is a well-located, well-crafted boutique hotel in the heart of Union Square, featuring 82 fully renovated guest rooms. This historic property has been reimagined to appeal to a broad range of guests — tourist families, design-minded business travelers, tech conventioneers, and international design enthusiasts alike.

POSITION PROFILE

The Engineer is a hands-on problem solver who keeps Palihotel San Francisco running safely and smoothly — from patching walls to troubleshooting HVAC, no repair is too big or too small. You'll balance day-to-day fixes with proactive maintenance, keeping the property guest-ready and code-compliant.

THE TASK AT HAND

  • Perform general repairs - drywall, painting, basic electrical, plumbing, and furniture/fixture fixes.
  • Install, replace, and program guest room televisions.
  • Maintain and repair HVAC systems, heating/cooling pumps, and water lines, and troubleshoot kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain accurate repair and preventative maintenance records, adhering to all local, state, and federal codes.
  • Practice safe work habits, complying with MSDS and OSHA standards.
  • Support the operations team, including House Person duties, during busy periods or staffing shortages.
  • Work a flexible schedule based on hotel occupancy and emergency repair needs.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Required
  • 2 years of related experience in general repair and building maintenance.
  • Extensive knowledge of AC systems and refrigeration.
  • Strong communication, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
  • Professional skilled trade licensing in plumbing and electrical.
Physical
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs throughout a shift.
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU
  • Competitive compensation package with medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, plus 401(k).
  • Paid time off, holiday pay, and sick pay.
  • Career advancement and professional development as we open new hotels and restaurants nationwide.
  • Employee discounts across our entire portfolio (25 hotels and more to come!).
