Overview

We are seeking a skilled Plumbing/HVAC Purchasing to lead purchasing efforts in the commercial mechanical construction sector. This role is essential in ensuring the timely acquisition of equipment, goods, and services for commercial plumbing and HVAC projects. The ideal candidate will maintain a steady flow of resources, foster strong supplier relationships, and streamline procurement processes to enhance project success.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project teams to define commercial plumbing and HVAC procurement needs.
• Manage purchasing activities, including obtaining competitive bids, negotiating terms, and procuring equipment and materials.
• Oversee subcontract agreements, ensuring all contracts are completed before the project starts.
• Maintain logs to track equipment lead times and ensure alignment with project schedules.
• Monitor delivery schedules, expediting when necessary to meet project deadlines.
• Negotiate and resolve back charges to ensure cost-effective procurement.
• Stay updated on market trends, seeking cost-saving opportunities.
• Build and sustain relationships with suppliers, distributors, and vendors.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in purchasing for commercial plumbing and HVAC projects.
• Strong knowledge of industry-specific equipment and materials.
• Established supplier network and strong vendor management skills.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

• Proven negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive approach to vendor management focuses on building long-term strategic relationships.
