Maintenance Technician

The Building Maintenance Technician will maintain the building’s furniture, fixtures and equipment. This individual will perform basic maintenance/repairsto flooring, walls, plumbing and HVAC systems. In the event of an emergency, he/she may becalled to support necessary tasks in association with that emergency.

The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but CBRE GWS Localmay identify other responsibilities of the position as needed. These responsibilities may differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.

• Performstasks, such as but not limited to, changing light bulbs, installing paper dispenser units, changing filters, changing locks on doors, minor decorative maintenance, workstation assembly and repair plus other tasks not requiring alicensed skilled trades person or journeyman.
• Readily takes direction from Facility Manager and Facility Coordinator. Willingly supports team members upon requests.
• Identifies and corrects unsafe working conditions with management oversight.
• Attend straining programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.
• Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
• Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
• Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.
• Applies all applicable OSHA and related local safety requirements to all assigned work.
• May be required to assist with special events.
• May drive acart or other vehicle.
• Assists skilled trade workers in one or more areas performing specific or standard duties to learn new skills as required for advancement and certification.
• May be required to utilize basic cleaning and other chemicals.
• Examines mechanical equipment to diagnose trouble.
• Adjusts functional parts of furniture, fixtures and equipment as necessary.
• May order replacement parts and equipment with management approval.
• Inspects completed repairs.
• May be required to inventory equipment, parts and supplies.

• Ability to maintain a professional relationship with all coworkers, vendor representatives, supervisors, managers, customers and client representatives.
