Custodian

HOURLY: $13.60

Under immediate supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, is responsible for general office cleaning and maintenance. This position occasionally prepares simple reports and records. Decisions are made on a routine level. Position has little or no contact with the public with no supervisory responsibilities.

General garden tools, cleaning chemicals and floor finishes. Operate buffer, vacuum cleaner, mop and push broom. Will also utilize ladder, when necessary.

Some unusual working hours, irregular hours or shifts. Hazards exist which may result in lost time, accident exposure to soiling of clothing and skin surface; work involves normal weather changes. Physical effort limited to lifting 20-30 lbs.; work involves standing and walking from place to place.

Requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent; however, will be afforded an opportunity to acquire within nine (9) months if the applicant does not possess one at the time of employment. Must have some knowledge of the subject to perform work in a limited range of work situations with intermittent supervision. Prefer a minimum of one (1) year experience. Must be able to read and write the English language and possess a valid Texas drivers’ license.
