Mechanical Maintenance Technician – San Leandro, CA

Job Summary

Georgia-Pacific has immediate openings for Mechanical Technician at our San Leandro, CA facility. This position offers a competitive benefits package with a starting hourly rate of $29.83 - $32.30 BOQ. The role involves preventative and corrective maintenance of manufacturing equipment, ensuring increased uptime and reliability.

• Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Help meet or exceed production, waste and quality goals through a quality maintenance program.
• Install, repair and maintain mechanical drives, chains, sprockets, gears, belts, and couplings.
• Perform all maintenance checks and preventive maintenance in a safe and timely manner.
• Upload/download and research online the necessary software, maintenance and operation manuals for equipment.
• Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to 12 hours/day in a loud, hot, humid, dusty, greasy, and high‑volume environment.
• Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations and wear appropriate PPE.
• Willing to work any shift, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.

• Minimum of 1 year mechanical industrial manufacturing experience OR industrial certification from an accredited technical college, trade school, or university.
• Experience performing preventative maintenance and identifying predictive maintenance of equipment.
• Mechanical certification or related educational qualifications is a plus.
• Experience working in the corrugated packaging industry is advantageous.
• Knowledge of fasteners, hydraulics/pneumatics, hoisting/rigging, alignment/couplings, lubrication, bearings/seals, mechanical drive systems, blueprints/drawings, precision measuring tools, welding/fabrication, pipe fitting, pumps, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, and conveyors.

2-2-3 schedule:
Shifts will be 5 am – 5 pm or 5 pm – 5 am; (2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off, etc.).
