Parks Maintenance Aide -II​/Farmer's Market Restroom

Job Summary

This position is responsible for the weekly delivery of two portable restroom trailers to the downtown area, for use by the public during Farmer’s Market each Thursday. They will also handle sewage disposal according to the City’s guidelines; clean and disinfect each unit, including toilets, sinks, counters, mirrors; load sanitary supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, soap; perform maintenance on the units as necessary.

They will also complete all necessary paperwork, advise management when repairs are necessary, and complete all necessary vehicle & trailer inspections prior to each towing.

• The safe operation of small power tools such as a drill/driver, trailer jacks and wheel chocks.
• Basic janitorial duties such as cleaning toilets, disinfecting surfaces, and restocking supplies.
• Safety procedures used in public works maintenance projects.

• Safely and effectively operate a city vehicle, with prior experience towing trailers being desirable.
• Understand and follow written and oral instructions in an independent manner.
• Meet the physical requirements necessary to perform required duties safely and effectively.
• Interact with members of the public in a polite and respectful manner and understand who to direct questions to.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
• One year of custodial experience is highly desirable.

• Pre-employment Physical.
• Livescan Fingerprinting (DOJ).

This is a temporary position, with no benefits.
