Job Overview
Floor Technician will be responsible for safely performing assigned floor care functions based on standards and procedures, performing environmental services as needed, and carrying out floor care tasks such as waxing, stripping, buffing, and other contractual duties as regulated.
Roles & ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully and safely, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.
- Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures. Stop at-risk behaviors in others and self.
- Work with other employees in a team to complete assignments.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Follow all company procedures, policies, and rules.
- Take direction and respond to supervision.
- Talk with lead, supervisor, co‑workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner.
- Fill in during staff shortages, such as in custodial, recycle, or maintenance.
- Support shift lead in completing punch‑list items.
- Use proper personal protective equipment required for assigned tasks.
- Present a professional appearance and conduct.
- Understand customer service and satisfaction.
- Understand reporting systems and the environment.
- Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
- Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
- Perform cleaning and maintenance of all floors: tile, carpet, and brick flooring.
- Complete work assignments in a timely manner.
- Utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
- Use and maintain equipment properly.
- Operate and maintain all equipment correctly and safely.
- Always observe safety precautions, using safety signs such as "wet floor."
- Ability to work without normal supervision.
- Report safety hazards as appropriate.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education and/or Experience
:
No education requirement. 6‑month to 1‑year experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
:
May be required to have a valid driver’s license; complete all safety and task training certifications; forklift certification may be required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
:
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willingness to share with team.
- Knowledge of the upkeep and care of cleaning equipment.
- Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform this job's essential functions. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and frequently sit while talking or listening.
- The work environment characteristics include frequent exposure to cleaning chemicals and occasional noise from equipment.
Monday‑Friday, 3:00 pm–11:30 pm.
$19.00–$20.00 per hour.
