We are seeking a reliable and skilled Building Engineer / Maintenance Technician to support the daily maintenance and operation of a commercial building. This role is hands‑on and requires a strong working knowledge of general building systems, excellent time management, and the ability to interact professionally with tenants and property management.
The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of handling a wide range of light maintenance and repair tasks while maintaining a safe, clean, and functional environment.
Responsibilities- Drywall repair and patching
- Interior and exterior painting
- Basic plumbing repairs (leaks, fixtures, valves, clogs)
- Lighting maintenance, including ballast and lamp replacements
- Light electrical work (switches, outlets, fixtures – no high‑voltage work)
- Monitor HVAC systems: check thermostats, replace air filters, identify mechanical or performance issues
- Conduct routine building inspections to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns
- Respond to tenant service requests in a timely, professional manner
- Interface effectively with tenants, vendors, and property management
- Maintain organized work orders, logs, and maintenance records
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and building policies
- Assist with special projects, vendor coordination, and preventative maintenance as needed
- Proven experience in building maintenance or facilities engineering
- Strong working knowledge of general maintenance trades (plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, HVAC basics)
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and perform repairs with minimal supervision
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment
- Basic computer or mobile app skills for work orders and reporting
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to climb ladders, work overhead, and access mechanical spaces
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods
