Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, General Labor
Overview
TAS Environmental Services, LP is seeking a Technician to assist in day‑to‑day operations, including emergency response, equipment cleaning, inventory management, and industrial tank cleaning. The role is physically demanding and may involve dirty and strenuous work.
Responsibilities- Handle various hazardous and non‑hazardous products
- Perform industrial work and biohazard cleanups
- Stage, profile, and process waste for disposal (hazardous and non‑hazardous)
- Assist in soil, debris, and spill site cleanup
- Operate and clean equipment
- Maintain logs of working hours in compliance with applicable state and federal regulations
- Travel up to 25% as needed; location may vary
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Strong observation skills
- Technical proficiency with field equipment
- Knowledge of environmental regulations
- Data collection and analysis skills
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient in critical thinking
- Teamwork oriented
- Require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing at times
- Frequently lift or move items up to 60 pounds
- Frequent stair and ladder climbing; occasional heights
- Wear personal protective equipment, including respiratory protection
- Work in both office settings and job sites
- Work in confined spaces when needed
- Maintain a clean shave for proper respirator seal during hazardous waste work
- HAZWOPER and confined space certifications preferred
- Ability to read, write, and perform mathematics
- Class C (Texas) or equivalent required
- Level 1 Technicians must obtain and maintain:
- HAZWOPER 40
- OSHA 10 and 30
- MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) Certification
- CSE/R (Confined Space Entry/Rescue) Certification
- CPR Certification
- H2S Certification
- First Aid Certification
