Floor Technician

Location: Texas State University - 601 University Drive, San Marcos, TX 78666 (Openings at other locations within the school district are available). Online applications accepted only.

Schedule: Full time, Monday through Friday, 10:30 pm to 6:00 am (overnight). Full or part‑time shifts with flexibility to meet most scheduling needs.

Pay: $15.00 per hour.

Requirement: Prior floor technician experience preferred.

Floor Technician is responsible for floor maintenance, restoration, and the operation of industrial floor care equipment.

• Maintains knowledge of principles of hard‑surface floor maintenance and uses proper procedures on hard floor care including stripping and refinishing, burnishing, spray cleaning, and spray buffing.
• Operates various types of industrial floor care equipment.
• Utilizes automated equipment for cleaning large floor surfaces.
• Uses proper procedures on carpet and upholstery including shampooing, damp surface, extractions, spot cleaning, vacuuming, etc.
• Performs maintenance and restorative processes for all floor surface types.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.

• Previous experience as a floor care technician or in a related role preferred.
• Proven knowledge of floor care equipment and techniques required.
• Knowledge and ability to follow safety procedures.
• Requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of up to 50 lbs.
