This is a full-time, in-office position.
Your Specific Responsibilities:The Florida Department of Health in Seminole County is looking for a self‑motivated, hardworking individual to serve as a Property Specialist. The role supports and serves as a backup to the Building Operations Specialist, coordinating building maintenance, cleaning, and inventory management across three properties. Key tasks include:
- Coordinating building maintenance and cleaning of properties, and working with county maintenance staff when needed.
- Ordering, receiving, tracking, and issuing inventory, supplies, equipment, and materials required by the CHD.
- Assisting with housekeeping and custodial assignments at all CHD sites.
- Coordinating fleet maintenance for 30 county vehicles and three towable storage trailers.
- Receiving, unpacking, stocking, and issuing stored items such as chemicals, furniture, and supplies.
- Inspecting incoming materials for quantity and quality against purchase orders, invoices, and packing slips; reporting discrepancies.
- Performing general repairs and modifications to facilities, including roofs, ceilings, walls, doors, locks, flooring, shelving, plumbing fixtures, and other building components.
- Maintaining furnishings and equipment in facilities using hand tools, power tools, and repair materials.
- Providing general labor support for health department activities such as delivering equipment, setting up displays, rearranging furniture, erecting tents, and assisting with events.
- Operating department vehicles (vans, pickup trucks, large mobile unit).
- Assisting with housekeeping chores: cleaning restrooms, removing trash, mopping, vacuuming, restocking supplies, and maintaining break rooms.
- Opening the 400 W. Airport Boulevard facility by 07:00 a.m. Monday‑Friday; serving as a secondary responder for non‑business hours facility requirements and emergencies.
- Performing additional duties as assigned to support the mission of the Department of Health in Seminole County.
This position may require work before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. Emergency duty may include work in special‑needs or Red Cross shelters or responding to disaster threats. The role requires maintaining confidentiality and security of records as specified by departmental regulations and laws, and a valid Florida Driver License.
Qualifications:Minimum:
- Ability to lift 50 pounds to waist level and 25 pounds over shoulders/head.
- Ability to stand for periods of 60–90 minutes.
- Valid Florida Driver License.
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and/or trailer‑driving experience.
- Experience with facility maintenance, inventory management, and vehicle operation.
- Knowledge of desktop computer use and state software programs.
