Manufacturing Equipment Technician

This position is responsible for ensuring the reliability, up time, and safe operation of manufacturing equipment and facility systems. This role is heavily focused on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment repair, and continuous improvement initiatives within a production environment. The position also supports facility upkeep, safety compliance, and building maintenance activities.

Shift Available:
Monday-Thursday 4:00pm-2:30am.

Training Shift: TBD.

Pay:
Up to $32.50/hour to start.

What You'll Do:

Maintenance & Equipment Reliability

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing and finishing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC controlled systems.
  • Maintain and repair production equipment including presses, folders, die cutters, conveyors, wrappers, pumps, compressors, VFDs, DC drives, chillers, and related machinery.
  • Diagnose equipment failures and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Coordinate and schedule PM activities to maximize equipment availability and production efficiency. Use associated PM software program.
  • Support equipment installations, modifications, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Maintain spare parts inventories and work with vendors to source replacement components.
  • Assist with machine relocations, equipment commissioning, and process improvements.
  • Document maintenance activities, equipment history, and repair records.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, lockout/tagout, and other safety standards.
  • Train operators and technicians on equipment operation and maintenance best practices.

Facilities Maintenance

  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs of building systems including lighting, plumbing, HVAC support equipment, overhead doors, dock levelers, and facility infrastructure.
  • Perform minor carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and building repairs as needed.
  • Oversee maintenance of air compressor systems and facility utilities.
  • Coordinate contractors and vendors performing facility-related services.
  • Support workplace safety initiatives, inspections, and facility improvement projects.

Desired Traits/Requirements:

  • Detailed-Oriented and capable of following standard work instructions.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to communicate and work with co-workers effectively.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and PLC systems.
  • Experience with VFDs, DC drives, motors, pumps, compressors and automated production equipment.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, written diagrams and technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs and maintenance planning.
  • Experience with OSHA compliance and industrial safety programs.
  • 10+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Technical degree/Trade School preferred.
  • Relevant Certifications Strong Preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • The employee is regularly required to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions involving hands, wrists, and arms.
  • The employee frequently uses hands and fingers to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • The employee is required to walk, reach with hands and arms, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds regularly, with or without assistance.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus to inspect materials and products.
  • The employee must be able to safely work in a fast-paced production and warehouse environment.
